It has now been almost 10 years since we were married. We have come and gone and accomplished many things that will take a lot longer time to write about that I have time or space to do here. I will elaborate on just a few things and then close.
Our first home was a basement apartment in Pleasant Grove. I started school 4 days after we were married at the University of Utah where I would finish up with my Bachelors degree in Anthropology 4 years later in 1996. A year and a few months after we were married on March 5th, 1994, we were pleased to have a baby boy named Isaac James Olsen. He was baptized by his father this last April 6th in-between sessions of conference. He will be in Third grade and he loves to read, draw, ride his bike, write in his journal and read his scriptures.
We moved to another house in PG after we learned that we would be having another child. Zachary Marchus Olsen was born July 17th, 1995. Zachary will be in second grade this year. He loves riding his bike, reading, building things with his hands and going to school.
The week after Zachary was born I began working for Lockheed Martin in SLC. This began the career that I am still in of designing circuit boards. In June of 1996, I graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelors of Science in Anthropology (why I chose Anthropology is another long story for another day).
On November 3rd, 1996 Rachel Lynn Olsen was born. Our first girl and we were so excited. We ended up having to move again to our third house in PG because the landlord at the place we were living in did not allow more that 2 children. Rachel will be starting Kindergarten this fall and is very excited. She loves to help her Mom around the house, loves to play dolls and play with her brothers.
In December of 1996 we moved into Kelli Parents basement. This was a blessing for us since we were not making it financially and we were able to help them remodel their basement and put in a kitchen and finish a bath. We were there 9 months and then I got a call out of the blue to take a job with The Barber Collman Company in Loves Park, Illinois. We were excited for a change and an opportunity get out of debt and see the world so we accepted the job and moved to Rockford Illinois.
We lived in Roscoe (15 miles north of Rockford on the Wisconsin border) for two years. While were there we had another bouncing baby boy named Matthew Weiler Olsen. He was born on March 20th, 1999 in Rockford Illinois. He is now three years old and is talking very well. He loves doing whatever anyone else is doing and likes to explore new things.
In October of 1999 I was laid off from Barber Collman. We knew that it was coming and had been looking for other opportunities. In November I was offered a job with Intel in Dupont Washington. We were ecstatic. Intel is the company that we wanted to work for and were looking for opportunities with the company. We moved to Lacey Washington and I started working for Intel on December 20th 1999.
On January 2nd, 2001, we were blessed with another baby girl, Rebekah Ann Olsen. She is the latest in miracles in our life and is quite happy playing and being with her family. She is beginning to make taking sounds and walks and runs very cutely.
We currently live in Lacey Washington and have been here almost 3 years. Soon after Rebekah was born I went back to school to earn a masters degree. I am studying with the University of Phoenix in their Masters of Business Administration of e-Business program. I will graduate in March of 2003.
My testimony of the gospel and love for the Savior has grown over time and our Father in Heaven has seen fit to bless our family with an abundance of blessings and opportunities. I am grateful for temple marriages and the sealing power of the priesthood that allows families to be together forever. I am grateful for my best fried and companion Kelli who is the light of my life, the strength of my existence and the joy of my heart. I am grateful for my Savior and his atoning sacrifice and know that without him and his love for us nothing would be possible or worth doing in this life. I am grateful to my Father in Heaven for providing us these sweet and joyous spirits that have come into our home. I love them dearly and could not imagine life without them. I am grateful for my parents for setting a righteous example and for teaching me the gospel in my youth. I am grateful for the church, for the temples and for missionary service. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
